Falconry Night

Photos:

Date: Tuesday 23rd September

Permission Form: Falconry Night.

This night will be a hands on experience. All Cubs will be given the opportunity to hold or fly a bird of prey as part of the evening. As this is an expensive evening, we are asking for £3 to cover part of the cost for the night. The balance will be paid for from Subs.

We would remind parents that the birds are wild animals and not domesticated. They work in partnership with their handler but are not under his control. There is a risk of claws and beaks. We will remind the children of this during the evening but, to comply with Health and Saftey we require a permission form to give consent for your child to attend the evening. Please print off and complete the form and hand it in, together with the £3 on the 9th September.

All Cubs attending will attain part of their Animal Carer Badge.

Time: 18:15 - 19:30

Venue: Fareham Police Station, Quay Street, Fareham, PO16 0NA

Directions: For a map click Police

Date: Tuesday 7th October

Time: to be confirmed

Permission Form Police Station Visit.

This night will depend on which inmates the station has in on the evening. It it possible that the evening will need to be altered at short notice as Fareham is a high security station and occasionally houses potentially dangerous people. (and that's only the policemen!) We are hoping to have our fingerprints taken, to spend some time in the cells and to give the Cubs information about crime prevention and avoiding crime. We will need help on the night so if you fancy a trip around the Nick please let Akela know.

All Cubs attending will attain part of the following badges - Community Challenge, Local Knowledge,

As we are offsite, we will need a permission form with relevant contact details. Please try to share lifts where possible as this reduces pollution and helps you to save time! Forms must be returned by 23rd September so that we can notify the station for numbers.

Date: Sunday 9th November

Time: 10.10 - end time to be confirmed

Uniform: full uniform with smart, polished black or navy shoes. Don't forget a poppy!

We ask the Cubs to attend church parade twice a year; St George's Day and Remembrance Day. We promise to do our duty to God and this a Cub's way of fulfilling that promise. We expect everyone to attend. If you are unable to rearrange committments please let Akela know.

We will be meeting in the car park by the tennis courts at Sarisbury Green (the pick up point from the Treasure Hunt at Holly Hill last year!) at 10.10 a.m. We will be marching from there to the memorial at St Paul's and then attending the Remembrance service at 10.30 a.m. You can collect your child from the tennis court car park at (time to be confirmed).

Thanks to everyone who attended. We had 15 Cubs on parade, a new record!

Remembrance Night

We are holding an evening of crafts which reflect how Cubs would have spent their time during the War. The conclusion of the evening is a short Remembrance Service which starts at 7.30pm. We would like to invite all parents to attend as all Cubs will be taking part in the Remembrance.

We hope to be joined on the night by Midge and Scissors from the Probadge team as well as some of the Scout Leaders. Assistance is always appreciated and details can be found in the Parent Rota.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas party will be getting a Doctor Who make over this year. Hopefully you still have your fancy dress from District Camp and can wear it tonight. Any reluctant dressers could wear a themed hat or badge if they prefer. More details closer to the time.

All Cubs will need a packed tea. This should not be too large and should not replace dinner before Cubs. We will provide a drink for all of the Cubs.
